VDH Low-Income Safety Seat Program: Franklin, Patrick, & Henry Counties
The Perinatal Education Center coordinates the Virginia Department of Health Low-Income Safety Seat Program for Franklin, Patrick, and Henry counties, offering Safety Seat Installation Classes monthly at the Perinatal Education Center.
Child Safety Seats are being made available to those who meet all of the following requirements:
Qualifications to receive a 5 point harness safety Seat:
- Last trimester of pregnancy (at least 7 months pregnant)
- Baby/Child over 5 pounds and less than 65 pounds
- Legal resident of Virginia
- Medicaid or Virginia Premier recipient, or proof of meeting the VDH Low-income Level Program Guidelines
- Attend a Safety Seat Installation and Uses Class
- Sign a release of Liability Waiver Form
The Perinatal Education Center has Booster Seats available while supplies last for those who meet all the following criteria:
Qualifications to receive a Booster Seat:
- Child at least 40 pounds
- Vehicle back seat with a lap and shoulder belt
- Legal resident of Virginia
- Medicaid or Virginia Premier recipient, or proof of meeting the VDH Low-income Level Program Guidelines
- Attend a Safety Seat Installation and Uses Class
- Sign a release of Liability Waiver Form
This program is dependent on the number of seats available.
